Important Notes:
1.) Firewood prices have increased all over North America this year due to
transportation costs (fuel), high demand and other market factors related to the forestry industry problems.
However prices are lower this year than last year.

2.) Dry seasoned birch firewood is in very short supply again this year, almost ALL of the birch for sale
in Southern Alberta has been cut this year (Feb/Mar and throught the summer of 2011) which means
it is NOT seasoned properly, birch requires over a year to dry properly. Our birch was all cut over 2 years ago
and is ready to burn now with a test moisture range of 14% which is considered as PRIME

Why buy palletized firewood from us ?

CLEAN- This firewood is all hand picked and clean without all the loose bark, rocks and dirt, it is selected for size and
quality so almost every piece is good..no punky stuff or huge oversized chunks. You will be impressed by how nice this firewood is compared to other dirty bulk firewood dumped in your driveway !

ACCURATE AMOUNT-Tight stacked accurate half cord measure - 25-30 % more firewood than loose cords sold everywhere else, don’t be fooled by lower prices when resellers are offering loose stacked.

QUALITY- Almost all birch for sale in Alberta right now has been cut this last winter and is not seasoned, it will not be very good for indoor burning until December or January at the earliest and will not be prime for another year.

Ever get a load of bulk firewood dumped on your driveway or in your truck that has so much bark, dirt, gravel and other unwanted material..Does that make you feel like you got a fair deal ?

When you buy our Palletized Firewood, it is clean because it's been hand picked while stacking the pallets, this leaves the bark, dirt and rocks out of the wood and back at our yard and not your's...

Plus the customer can always tell they're getting the correct cord measure they paid for because you can see that the wood is tight stacked and the measurement can be checked. Our pallets are over a third of a cord and 3 pallets will give more than a full cord, approximately 1.2 to 1.5 cords to be more precise.

"Guestimating" a cord measurement by a firewood reseller can leave with 25-30% less wood than you thought you had bought. Shopping around to save a few dollars can be a waste of time if the measurements are not accurate and in our opinion, this is more common than it should be in Alberta. Getting a "cord" of firewood for $50.00 to $100 less in savings can be negated because you actually got less firewood PLUS you also buy a load of bark and dirt along withn it.

Our firewood is guarenteed to be dry and properly seasoned unlike the vast majority of firewood in the area, most birch firewood sold in Calgary is LESS than a year old and not seasoned properly. All of our wood is moisture tested to insure it is ready to burn, we will NOT sell unseasoned birch firewood and we guarentee that.

NOTE: The rainy cool weather this summer in both BC and Alberta has created a critical shortage
of properly seasoned birch firewood. Many resellers are selling improperly seasoned birch as they
have no choice with the tight supply. The cool and wet weather did not allow enough time for this firewood
to air dry properly. The outdoor piles were soaked and humid most of the summer.

Canada Firewood was aware that this problem back in the
summer and we have aquired a state-of-the-art firewood kiln to insure our Yellow Birch is not only
guarenteed dry, but each piece in the pallet is dried to the optimum moisture content for burning
and maximum heat value. The cleanest birch firewood you'll ever see. No bugs, no mold and no dirt.

We have adequate stock of birch for the season and can produce more perfectly dried birch
each week in our state of the art firewood kiln as required.

In B.C. Fir and Larch are favored over birch firewood by locals using wood stoves for heating.
Fir has a long burn time and similar heat value to birch, but produces a lot less ash and a livelier flame,
If you desire a change from burning birch or pine, try fir /larch for a change.
Also fir helps birch burn more completely when the two woods are used together.

Fir and Larch have a nice aroma and a mild crackle when burning.
We find that a Fir/Larch fire is a lot hotter burning than most other firewoods, including birch.
